So we can conclude that the photosynthesis cannot be carried out without carbon dioxide. The leaf from the plant (which was inside the other bell jar without potassium hydroxide and so having carbon dioxide in it) turns blue-black on adding iodine solution showing that starch is present in this leaf.

BY EXPERIMENT

MATERIALS REQUIRED:

KOH solution,Vaseline, 2 flower pot,starch solution testing materials like alcohol,iodine solution,bell jars..etc...

PROCEDURE:

take 2 flower pots of variegated leaves like croton or money plant

keep it in dark room for 3 days for using of starch present in plant

after keep it in the sunlight about 6 hours

now cover both plants with bell jars and in  bell jar A  fix KOH solution for producing of partial vacuum

with help of Vaseline keep all the experiments air tight

after 1 day pluck a leaf from both bell jars and do starch test with help of alcohol and iodine test

OBSERVATION:

u will find in bell jar A leaf color is colorless and in bell jar B was blue black this shows the presence of starch in bell jar B

INFERENCE:

by this experiment we can conclude that co2 is necessary for photosynthesis
