Rationalize: A frictioin whose denominator is a SURD can be simplified by making the denominator rational....
If the denominator has just one term that is a Surd the denominator can be rationalized by multiplying the numerator an denominator by that Surd.
Rationalize the denominator of √8 by √6
The denominator can be rationalized by multiplying the numerator and denominator by √6
√8×√6 by √6×√6
=√48 by √6
= √(16×3) by √6
=4√3 by 6
= 2√3 by 3.
