it can be written as (x²/3x )+ (-9/9)
cancel -9 with 9
=> (x × x /3× x )-1
cancel one of the x with the x in denominator
=> (x /3 )-1

x²-9=x²-3²
=(x+3)(x-3)
Therefore (x²-9)/3x+9=(x+3)(x-3)/3x+9
=(x+3)(x-3)/3(x+3)
(x+3) gets cancelled
(x²-9)/3x+9=(x-3)/3

kdarsh20112003: it is equal to (x/3)-3/3=(x/3)-1
