Suppose: 3² - 2³ - 5²
=) 3 × 3 - 2 × 2 × 2 - 5 × 5
=) 9 - 8 - 25
=) 1 - 25
=) -24 (Answer)
In 3², the number in the power is 2 (i.e. 3 is to 2), we'll multiply the number that much times. The power is 2 so we'll multiply 3 in total 2 times like 3 × 3. In 2³, the number in the power is 3 so we'll multiply 2 in total 3 times like 2 × 2 × 2 and in 5², the number in the power is 2 so we'll multiply 5 in total 2 times like 5 × 5.
