How do you solve 8y=−16 and −10x+8y=64?

8y=-16

and,

-10x+8y=64

or -10x-16=64

or -10x =64+16

or x =80/(-10)

or x =-8

and,

8y =-16

or y= -16/8

or y= -2.

Hence, x= -8 and y=-2.
