How do you solve the following system using substitution?: 5x+2y=−4,−3x+y=20

Here is your answer

From equation 2,

-3x+y=20

y=20+3x......equation 3

Putting equation 3 in equation 2

5x+2(20+3x)=-4

5x+40+6x=-4

11x=-4-40

11x=-44

x=-44÷11

x=-4
