How do you solve y = 2x and 3x - 2y = -2?

y=2x.......(1)

3x-2y=-2.........(2)

substituting (1) in (2),

we get,

3x-2(2x)=-2

3x-4x=-2

-x=-2

x=2.

but,y=2x....from(1)

y=2(2)

y=4.

x=2 and y=4 are the solutions for the given equation.
