Answer:

The human heart is an organ that pumps blood throughout the body via the circulatory system, supplying oxygen and nutrients to the tissues and removing carbon dioxide and other wastes. "The tissues of the body need a constant supply of nutrition in order to be active," said Dr.

The deoxygenated blood from the body enters the heart through the vena cava and it reaches the right atrium. When the right atrium contracts and relaxes the blood moves into right ventricle. From the right ventricle the blood enters the pulmonary artery to the lungs. At lungs the blood gets oxygenated and reaches the left atrium through the pulmonary vein. When left atrium contracts and relaxes blood moves into left ventricle. From the left ventricle the oxygenated blood reaches all body parts through aorta.

This is how the heart functions.

Hope this helps you.
