how does a hybrid car work nd how it is helpful for betterment of our enviornment

A hybrid car works on both electricity and Petrol. When you go at a average speed of 80 kmh the car runs on battery but when the car crosses 80 kmh it also uses Petrol with it. Each temperature you hit the brakes the force generated is absorbed and if used to recharge the battery. This actually is a help to the environment as normal car uses Petrol and relieved carbon monoxide which is a very dangerous gas. But in a hybris car as the car mostly runs on battery it does not produces any harmful gas.
