a Neutron Star is a much farther stage of a stars life cycle.. basically.. the light that stars radiate is due to the fusion of elements present in its core.. when this energy supply gets exhausted.. the outward pressure of the gases decreses as compare to gravitational pull of the core... as a result... only in cases of more massive stars .. the particles get attracted to form a compressed mass of extremely high density. during this time.. electrons get attracted too and they fall into the nucleus.. and reach the proton to form neutrons.. due to this.. the star is fully comprised of neutrons only.. it is called Neutron Star
