They also reproduce from their ‘eyes’. If you look at a potato, there are little indentations all over it. Each of these is a potential growth point. Farmers plant potatoes by cutting ‘seed’ potatoes into chunks, each one with at least one eye, and then they plant each chunk. The eyes grow roots and sprout the leaves and flowers as well.

If you didn’t know what you were looking at, you could easily mistake a field of potatoes for several other green crops, as you only see the leaves and stems until harvest time.
