Potato is the underground modification of stem. It is called as stem tuber. Potato reproduces asexually by the process of vegetative propagation.  Potatoes have small eyes which give rise to scaly leaves.   In the rainy season these eyes start to produce scaly leaves due to availability of required amount of moisture. Scaly leaves develop into new plants. *Asexual mode of reproduction:  It is a mode of reproduction in which a single individual is responsible for creating a new generation of species. *Vegetative propagation: This is the mode by which plants reproduce asexually. It involves the production of new plants from the vegetative parts of an existing plant.

Potato plant reproduces both sexually and asexually.Potato plant flowers and the seeds can be grown, though most of the spuds we eat are probably hybrids,so if we planted their seed, what you get may be very different from the one you started with.
They also reproduce from their eyes.If we look at a potato, there a little indentations all over it.Each of these is a potential growth point.Farmers plant potatoes by cutting seed potatoes into chunks, each one with atleast one eye,and then they plant the chunk. The eye grow roots, sprout the leaves and flowers as well.
