let the number of 2 rupees coins be x and 5 rupees be y.
from 1st condition
x = 3y \\ x - 3y = 0.......1
from 2nd condition
2x + 5y = 77.......2
multiply 1 with -2
 - 2x + 6y = 0......3
adding 2 and 3
we get
11y = 77 \\ y = 7
put y=7 in 1
x - 7 \times 3 = 0 \\ x = 21
Therefore there are 21 number of 2 rupees coin and 7 number of 5 rupees coin.
Hope this helps you:)))

Nidhi has 3 times as many Rs. 2 coins as she has Rs. 5 coins. If she has in all a sum of Rs. 77

We need to find, how many coins of each denomination does she have?

⠀⠀⠀⠀━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀\underline{\bigstar\:\boldsymbol{According\:to\: Question\::}}\\ \\

Nidhi has 3 times as many Rs. 2 coins as she has Rs. 5 coins. So, \\ \\

☯ Let the number of Rs. 5 coins be x.

☯ Therefore, number of Rs. 2 coins will be 3x. \\ \\

Given sum of both coins is 77. \\ \\

Therefore,

:\implies\sf 5 \times (x) + 2 \times (3x) = 77\\ \\

:\implies\sf 5x + 6x = 77\\ \\

:\implies\sf 11x = 77\\ \\

:\implies\sf x = \cancel{ \dfrac{77}{11}}\\ \\

:\implies{\boxed{\frak{\purple{x = 7}}}}\;\bigstar\\ \\

⠀⠀━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Hence, \\ \\

  • Number of Rs. 5 coins, x = 7

  • Number of Rs. 2 coins, 3x = 3 × 7 = 21 \\ \\

\therefore\;{\underline{\sf{She\;have\;7\;coins\;of\;Rs.\;5\;and\;21\;coins\;of\;Rs.\;2.}}}
