How does a vaccine help to build immunity

first of all let me tell you what a vaccine is.
It's a form disarmed pathogens or small amount of antigens.
these when transferred to our body generates a active immune response as the immune system will encounter these foreign agents and build antibodies against these.
Along this process some memory cells are formed which will recognise these pathogens whenever they enter in future .
but now the immune response will be much better and elevated as the immune system already know what antibodies they have to prepare and how to deal with that pathogen.
so, in a general way it is a precautionary way to get immuned ourselves from a pathogenic infection.
