Answer: Amoeba takes in food using temporary finger-like extensions of the cell surface which fuse over the foodparticle forming a food-vacuole as shown in figure. Inside the foodvacuole, complex substances are broken down into simpler ones which then diffuse into the cytoplasm.

amoeba takes it food by the false projections like leg/fingers called pseudopodia (false legs ) it goes near to it food engulfs it food by fusing over the food particle forming food vacuole.Inside the food vacuole, complex substances are broken down into simpler ones which then diffuse into the cytoplasm.
