Amoeba obtains food by the process of endocytosis. This happens with the help of pseudopodia i.e. false feet. They fuse over food particles which results in the formation of food vacuole. Inside food vacuole, the complex structure of the food is broken down into simpler substances.

amoeba getting nutrition is very easy concept.it has a pseudopodia which are special parts that helps it to move.it moves its pseudopodia  and captures a food particle near it and then with the help of certain  enzymes,it digests it.it also excretes the waste products with the help of this pseudopodia only.  

this food taking processes are called as phagocytosis and pinocytosis
