Facultative Anaerobes- They live in oxygen rich environments but can live in absence of oxygen as well.Anaerobic respiration also takes placein muscles of the human body. The by product of such respiration is lactic acid which is considered to be the substance that causes fatigue.

Hi,hope this helps you..
It happens in the area where mitochondria are not present. In humans, red blood corpuscle does not have mitochondria and that's why anaerobic respiration always happens in RBC. But in muscle cell when there is a lack of oxygen, then anaerobic respiration happens. The result of this is lactic acid.
