Anne expresses her reaction to the sound of guns during the Nazi period in her collection of notes in ‘The Diary of a Young Girl’. Anne describes her painful life as she experienced in the Nazi camp in Netherland for two years in her diary.

She has scripted all her experiences that she met in the camp. When she heard the sound of the guns, she was so frightened that she would crawl into her father’s bed fearing for life and to get a safe and comfort feeling.

After all, she was just 14 years old when she was in that horrifying camp and it was natural for a young girl to be frightened of gunshots. This was the picture of everyone who suffered the same during the Nazi period and hence her experiences are still considered as a mirror to all such people.
