how does bark of a tree act as a protective tissue

the bark of the tree is the dead part of plant there cork cell are present that acts as a protective tissue .if in case there is any attack on the plant by any organism ie bacteria ,fungi etc it affects only the dead plant hence nothing happen to plants.
so the bark of tree act as protective tissue

the bark of the tree acts as a protective tissue because protect the tree from various infections ,bacterias and the animals which can cause harm to the tree...... the bark of tree suffers first what the tree has to suffer and hence the acts as a protective layer of the tree
