elixir means a liquid substance that has the power to prolong life indefinitely. water has proved to be the elixir as it has the power to transform a desert into a fertile land as can be seen in the case of Egypt through which Nile runs. River was carried on silt with them which again adds fertility to land. water is the basis of all life .plants and animals have a substantial proportion of water in them and this plays an important role in their lives as it sustains both life and growth .therefore water is indeed the elixir of life as said by CV Raman
