Hii friend!!!

It is probably the most dominant factor in the India voter system, after of course religion. Indian's vote for the candidate that is in the same caste/religion as them. Hence, A) political parties only nominate candidates which belong to the dominant caste/religion in the electorate. If a constituency has equal number of two or more castes/religions, the winner is usually decided by which caste/religion votes the most. B) This isn't prevalent in the low income or low literacy rate (without making any suggestions to co-relations between the two) constituencies, but also in the high income and high literacy rate ones. C) the divide is a focal point in the election campaign by almost all politicians. This leads to an out cry in the media in every single election.

hope this will help you...
