Cheat Engine can inject code into other processes, and as such, most antivirus programs mistake it for a virus.. When you run a game or application your computer stores it in memory. Cheat engine can scan through that memory. Maybe you’re running an application or game and you just entered your name into a box. Your name is now stored somewhere in that game or application’s memory. You could change it if you wanted. Same principal for anything else such as lives or speed of your character in a video game.
