The air is heated and the temperature becomes high , hot air is always light and hence it carried to the surface as the cold air rises.
The air in the troposphere then undergo the process of condensation and hence the precipitates falls as rain.

This type of rainfall normally takes place around large water bodies such as lakes and oceans due to availability of water body unlike relief which takes place in highlands.
