how does copper gets corroded..write the equation involved..??

Mostly Metals in the Periodic Table gets corroded when they exposed to the air and the Moisture.

Copper gets corroded when it Exposed to the Moisture.When the Copper is exposed to air, the reddish brown surface of the copper becomes Green due to the formation of the Basic Copper Carbonate.

Reaction of the above is----
            2Cu + O₂   ⇒---------------------------⇒  2Cu₂O
