it leads to frequent floods because when the rain falls it seeps into the ground but as there are no trees the water will not be absorbed by trees and will lead to flood and it will lead to drought because when trees are there at a place they attract rain but if they will not be there so it will lead to droughts.
so in short we can say that the water level will be disturbed by the deforestation

Flood
Because when trees will be cut down they will not be able to absorb water by their roots. In this way the condition of flood will occur.
Drought
If trees will be cut then the rate of transpiration will be reduced and rainfall will not occur on time.
