Dr. Kemp was a scientist who studied with Griffin in University College, London. He is striving hard in pursuit of being a part of the Royal Society, a famous scientific organization. When we first meet him he is surrounded by scientific publications. He is working on "a remote speculation of social conditions of the future." He doesn't approve of the idea of Griffin using his room as a base for his reign of terror. Though like Griffin Kemp is also interested in science, his attitude is more positive as he knows what is right and what is wrong. He, after knowing the weakness of Griffin, makes a plan with Colonel Adye to stop Griffin in his evil plans.
