how does electric resistance of solid ionic compounds compare with respect to molten compounds​

in molten state,the ions have space to move and transfer charge,but in solid space due to less inter ionic spaces ,it cannot do so

Ionic compounds conduct electricity when molten (liquid) or in aqueous solution (dissolved in water), because their ions are free to move from place to place. Ionic compounds cannot conduct electricity when solid, as their ions are held in fixed positions and cannot move.Thus ionic compounds conduct electricity in molten state or solution but in solid state they do not conduct electricity. Because in molten state the electro motive force of attraction between particles is very weak due to which electron moves freely..
