Endocytosis is a process by which 'amoeba' takes food particles.

Amoeba is an unicellular organism where a single cell performs all the functions.

Hence, by endocytosis, the outermost membrane of amoeba folds inwards and extends outwards to catch the food particles,hence getting his nutrition.
