Exocytosis is a sub division of Active transport of materials in the cytoplasm. It commonly occurs with the help of the processes of osmosis and diffusion. The flexibility of the cell membrane also enables the cell in transfer of materials. In this, the cell membrane invaginates to protrude in the form of pseudopods or opens up to remove waste materials. It occurs in lower organisms (Amoeba) to ingest food.
