Fertilization in humans occurs when a male sperm meets with a female egg to form a fertilized egg. This fertilized egg is called an embryo or a zygote. The fertilization takes place at the end of the fallopian tube. During the ovulation period, a female egg is released, and then the egg is pushed inside the fallopian tube with the help of follicles. There are two fallopian tubes but fertilization takes place in one of them.

When the sperm of father fuses with the eggs(ova) of mothers inside the oviduct the formation of a new individual occurs called as zygote. In this way fertilization in humans occurs.
