Explanation:

Gas Exchange in Plants. Plants obtain the gases they need through their leaves. They require oxygen for respiration and carbon dioxide for photosynthesis. The gases diffuse into the intercellular spaces of the leaf through pores, which are normally on the underside of the leaf - stomata.

ANSWER:

The gas exchange takes place via diffusion process. The lower plant includes species like fungi, algae, lichens, mosses and liverworts.

EXPLANATION:

The gas from atmosphere is diffused in to intercellular spaces from the soil instead of atmosphere.

But in certain cases of fungi the mushrooms or other growth exchange gas with atmosphere as plant do that is exchanging the atmospheric gases. In chlorella pyrenoidosa the rate of carbondioxide gas flow was continuous in terms of 1% packed cell volume.
