how does ginger undergo vegetative propagation how is it different from the way sweet potato progated

ginger is propagated in roots under the soil

Ginger is a underground stem as it contains nodes and internodes which is property of stem.It can be grown by putting a ginger in soil, the leaves and buds originated from it

whereas in sweet potato there is no nodes and internodes so it is a root
