How does growing embryo get nutrition from mother 's blood?

the embryo gets nourished from the mothers blood through placenta a disc shaped tissue which is embedded in the uterine wall . it will contain villi on the embryo 's side of the tissue. on the mother's side are blood spaces which surround the villi . this provide a large surface area for glucose and oxygen to pass from mother to the embriyo.in this way it gets nutrition
