How does heating of sugar differ from heating of ammonium chloride

Answer:

when the sugar is heated  it melts and afterward caramelizes emitting the water. After this, it turns black(carbon) and after that converts to CO 2.It is chemical change.

whereas , when ammonium chloride is heated it changes its state of matter from solid to gas (sublimation) , it is physical change it can be get by cooling gas particles of ammonium chloride.
