Archaeological sources-
Which includes Artefacts,coins(Numismatics),ruins of old building and monuments. for example-Terracotta figurine,Harappa seal of Indus valley civilisation,coins of Mauryas ,Guptas etc.
Written sources-
Inscriptions,Tablets,Engravings on buildings,religious texts etc. e.g-Ashokas edicts,Sangam texts etc.
while recreating history a historian has to be careful and mindful of the following-
1.Objectivity,
2.Generalisation,
Objectivity means that historians must be careful that his account is unbiased and more inclined to objective truths, concept of being true independently from individual subjectivity caused by perception, emotions, or imagination
Generalistaion means a historian must be mindful not to generalise i.e think of a situation as the case everywhere based on his findings or No detail, no person, no event in history has an exact counterpart anywhere else in history.
