It is important to use conventional sources of energy because there will be a depletion of fossil fuels in the near future and it will also reduce pollution in the environment.
Conventional sources of energy can be used to make improvements in technology.
1. Biomass – Anaerobic degradation by using anaerobic bacteria to degrade the animal and plant wastes. This process liberates gases like methane, hydrogen, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulphide etc. The mixture of these gases is called as biogas, which is combustible and used as an excellent fuel.
2. Wind Energy – Wind has a lot of energy to destroy and this energy can be put to use smartly for constructive use. Wind energy possesses kinetic energy which can be utilized to do work. Wind energy can be used for producing electricity from wind mills, to run water pumps, for drawing water from the ground, to grind grain to make flour etc.
