consider two vessel..

1.steel bottle -which is narrow from its opening position or open surface.

2.steel bucket -which has a more opening position and open surface.

so relatively bucket will evaporate more faster than bottle because of its more open faced..

take two wet cloths

now hang them to dry bt spread only one cloth

u would notice that the cloth that was spread will dry faster as compared to another this is because it has larger surface area then the other.

this shows that increase in surface area increases the rate of evapiration
