If plate tectonics wasn't driving it into the continent of Asia, the subcontinent of India would be a lot flatter. Mountains are forming along the northern edge, along with many smaller wrinkles of foothills.
Due to its position between two large bodies of water and proximity to the very warm Indian Ocean, it has much rainfall in some areas. But some are quite dry for extended periods. This country also has a monsoon season which sculpts the land by erosion

Answer:

The scenic beauty of India today is because of the relief of India and weathering.

The great physical variations in India are due to the various geological processes and periods:

The peninsular plateau in India was once a part of Gondwana land which got divided into various pieces. The Indo Austrian plate move towards the north. Due to this north wars drafting, the plate collided with the Eurasian plate leading to the formation of Himalayas.

Due to the formation of Himalayas, a large basin was formed that got filled with sediments which were bought down by various rivers, forming the northern plains.

Other processes such as erosion, deposition and weathering also led to shaping of relief forms in India.
