(iv) Paper pulp, textiles, chemicals, etc. industries pollute land and soil due to toxic materials.
Steps to control environmental degradation are :
(i) Careful planning and setting of industries.
(ii) Better equipment. .
(iii) Proper fuel selection and utilisation.
(iv) Use of oil instead of coal.
(v) Treatment of industrial liquids.
(vi) Control overuse of mineral wealth
