In elements with many shells, the d and f orbitals shows poor shielding. therefore the s orbital tends to interact more with the nucleus causing it to show less reactivity. Therefore, the least oxidation state will be more stable.
since the least oxidation state is stable, the bond between molecules can break easily. Therefore the boiling point decreases.
