Kalams parents character is describes or even seen in the essay strong roots distinctively.

Kalams father was known as Jainulabdeen.

Kalams mother was known as Ashiamma.

She had a very motherly heart. She would keep Kalam company as he ate.

Kalams mother always prepared food for whoever visited their home since she has a tireless spirit.

Kalams father was a very religious and spiritual person. He was a source of hope for many people who would come visiting him.

Kalams father always started his day by reading the Nazam, then he visited the coconut farm that they owned, harvest some ,tied them on his shoulder and return home to take his breakfast, a behaviour he maintained up to his late sixties.

His father was also a spiritual teacher who would convey his teachings in a very simple and down to earth manner.

Kalams father advised him not to lose hope or be discouraged by the troubles and sufferings that one passes through but rather try and see their relevance.
