The kidneys excrete a variety of waste products produced by metabolism into the urine. These include the nitrogenous wastes urea, from protein catabolism, and uric acid, from nucleic acid metabolism.

KIDNEY.

》primary system of the kidney is remove nitrogenous wastes (mainly urea) from the body.

》 This is an extremely important kidney function, because the toxic build of nitrogenous waste in the body can lead to life-threatening diseases and eventually death.

■ While blood shedding is a necessary kidney function, kidneys do more than this.
