Mendel's dihybrid cross of pea plants shows that traits are inherited independently. when he crossed a tall pea plant having violet flowers with a dwarf pea plant having white flowers, in F1 generation all the plants are tall having violet flowers. These two traits I.e. height and colour of flowers are independent of each other which shows that traits are inherited independently.
