How does migration affect the pattern of land use?

Due to migration, the population in a particular area goes up considerably. This in turn increases the pressure of population on land as the number of people per square kilometre goes up. So more land is required to accomodate the growing number of people in the area. Thus the land use pattern is affected adversely.
