first law of motion states that a body at rest will remain at test and a body in motion will remain in motion in a straight line with a uniform speed until an external force act on it to change its state of rest or state of motion.
whereas second law of motion states that the rate of change of momentum is directly proportional to the applied force and the body moves in the direction of force
