Under the microscope, non-striated muscles or smooth muscles are observed to be spindle shaped with a single nucleus located in the centre.

Also they do not have stripes like that of striated muscles because of the absence of repeating sarcomeres.

Additional, the actin, myosin and others are observed to be arranged in a random manner.
