When gases are compressed, the pressure applied on the molecules is very high and the molecules come very close to each other. thus the gas changes into liquid state. This is because the molecules of gases are far apart from each other whereas the molecules of liquid are close to each other. Thus pressure helps in the liquefaction of gases.
eg.- LPG( liquified petroleum gas)
CNG-( condensed natural gas).

Liquefaction of gases is physical conversion of a gas into a liquid state. The processes are used for scientific, industrial and commercial purposes. Many gases can be put into a liquid state at normal atmospheric pressure by simple cooling; a few, such ascarbon dioxide, require pressurization as well. Liquefaction is used for analyzing the fundamental properties of gas molecules (intermolecular forces), for storage of gases, for example: LPG, and in refrigeration and air conditioning...
