❶Pollination is the transfer of pollen grains from an anther to a stigma. The fusion of male and female gametes is called fertilization. Pollen can be transferred by an animal or by the wind.

❷Post-fertilization changes in flower are: 1) The sepal, petal and stamen of the flower withers and fall off only pistil remains attached to the plant. 2)The ovules develop into the seed. 3)The zygote develops into the embryo.

❸Vegetative propagation methods include: • rooting of cuttings, • layering or marcotting, • grafting, • micropropagation. Propagation is the natural mechanism by which plants regenerate. Propagation by seeds is the main method by which plants reproduce in nature.

❹To receive the zygote the uterus undergoes many changes to create a friendly environment for the initiation of pregnancy. The lining of a uterus gets thickened and enriched with blood supply to promotes healthy growth. The uterus also increases its secretion to allow easy movement of the zygote for implantation.
