how does refraction affect amplitude of light wave

The amplitude of light wave is reduced after refraction. Here is an explanation,

Whenever a wave (sound wave, light wave etc) change medium a part of its energy decreases. For example, sunlight coming out of window glass is fainter. Similarly a sound wave too loses its energy when it changes its medium. Now as because energy in wave is proportional to square of its amplitude, decrease in wave energy decreases its amplitude.

Hope it will help u!!!!
