if the relative density of a liquid is more than the object the object will float and if the relative density of a liquid is a is less than the object the object will sink.
relative density is inversely proportional to the density of object.
hope this helps.

Answer:

If an object is more dense than water it will sink when placed in water, and if it is less ... to the concept of density and that density has to do with how heavy something is relative to its size.
